15th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup

15th Annual Lahaina Town Cleanup

This past weekend was the 15th Annual Lahaina Town Clean Up. Over the past 15 years thousands of volunteers have come together to help clean up over 7 square miles of Lahaina Town from the beach to the highway, including two boat harbors, 7 surf spots, and numerous parks.

This local event is in conjunction with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Clean Up Day. Giving local residents and visitors the opportunity to join in a global effort to remove litter and debris from our coastal environment. Groups of volunteers made up of divers, students, parents, and volunteers spent the day picking up trash and maintaining our coastline.

Tropic Water would like to give a big Mahalo to all those that had a part, and we look forward to helping out again next year.

Tropic Water Turns 10!

Tropic Water Turns 10!

Tropic Water Celebrates 10 Years in business.

Tropic Water first started in February of 2009, as a small two-man operation, dedicated to providing the best ultra-pure water, and best service possible.  In fact, we still have our very first customer that signed up for water delivery. Since then we have continued to grow and build our business to what it is today, with up to three delivery trucks on the road each day Monday thru Friday covering Maui all the way from Kapalua to Paia.

Over the years we have been able to give back to our community, by supporting non-profit organizations, Local schools, and events such as the Annual Lahaina Town Clean-up, and the Annual Sophie Swim.

In 2016 we were ranked by the Pacific Business News Fastest 50 as the 42nd fastest growing company in the entire state of Hawaii. What an honor and pleasure it is to represent Maui and to be recognized for our team’s hard work.

We want to take this time to thank our customers and our community, without your patronage and support of Local small businesses.  Tropic Water looks forward to continued growth, and giving our customers the best service we can in the years to come.

Tropic Water is happy to announce the opening of a second location in Lahaina.

On Thursday March 22nd, 2018 we had a small blessing ceremony with the Tropic Water ohana.  Two days later on March 24th we had our Grand Opening with free snacks, raffles, some lucky winners, and as always, the best water. It was a huge success!

Our New location is at 910 Honoapiilani Hwy next door to Spectrum.  Come in and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Tropic Water would like to thank the community for their continued support, and patronage. Mahalo Nui!

Tropic Water loves being able to support our community and our keiki.

Thank you note from Punana Leo O Lahaina

Tropic Water loves being able to support our community and our keiki.

Over the past couple months Tropic Water has been privileged to help support several events that benefitted the local community.  Pictures, like the one posted above, really make us smile. And we really appreciate the many thank you letters we receive from the community.

Here is one of our thank you letters we received:

“Mahalo nui,…! Again we so very much appreciate your support — ALL OF IT!

We are sincerely grateful for your spontaneous “YES” to our verbal donation request for use of one of your chillers and 4 five-gallon bottles of water to have during the length of Theatre Theatre Maui’s camp this summer. AND THEN to top that off you offered (and we accepted!) to deliver these items to the Sacred Hearts School Cafeteria tomorrow morning – WOW! …

Again thank you so much for your unwavering support of TTM and other organizations in our community. Tropic Water is truly “no-ka-oi!”

Mahalo,”

Hurricane season is approaching are you ready?

It is that time of year again.  Our Hurricane season of June to November is rapidly approaching, are you prepared?

You might think ‘we haven’t had to worry about it much in the past’, but It only takes one storm to change your life and community.  Tropical cyclones are among nature’s most powerful and destructive events.

It is important to remember that none of our islands are immune to hurricanes. Maui Civil Defense Agency staff often hears comments from the public such as “the mountain ranges of the Big Island protect us from hurricanes.” This simply isn’t true. In comparison to the potential volume of a hurricane (about 50,000 feet to the top of the eyewall and perhaps 400 miles in diameter), the mountains of the Big Island are roughly equivalent to a “speed bump.” It is not an issue of if a hurricane will ever impact Maui County, but simply a matter of when one will occur. With this in mind knowledge and preparation are essential.

It is vital to understand your home’s vulnerability to storm surge, flooding, and wind.  With that in mind this week (May 7-13, 2017) has been declared “Hurricane Preparedness Week 2017”.   Now is your time to prepare for a potential land-falling tropical storm or hurricane. Learn how with the tips below and related links. Share these with your friends and family to ensure that they too are prepared.

The National Hurricane Center and the Central Pacific Hurricane Center issue watches, warnings, forecasts, and analyses of hazardous tropical weather.  Check their websites often and make sure to pay attention to any alerts they put out.

What is the difference between a “HURRICANE WATCH” and a “HURRICANE WARNING”?

  • A “WATCH” is an official announcement that a hazardous condition may be a serious threat to life and property within a particular time. A hurricane “WATCH” means that hurricane conditions can be expected within 36 hours. “WATCH” status means you should GET READY and LISTEN to your radio or television for further instructions.
  • A “WARNING” is an official announcement that hazardous, life-threatening conditions are about to occur or are occurring. “WARNING” status means you should TAKE ACTION NOW – grab the emergency kit you have prepared in advance and head to safety immediately. A hurricane “WARNING” means that hurricane conditions can be expected within 24 hours.

“WARNING” and “WATCH” announcements for hurricanes, tsunamis and floods are explained further in your phone book. Please take “WATCH” and “WARNING” announcements very seriously. The more prepared you are for any impending danger; the better able you will be to protect yourself and your family.

If the Civil Defense sirens sound at any time other than during the test period, which is at 11:45 a.m. on the first working day of each month, turn your radio to one of the following local radio stations for information:
  • AM – 550, 900, 1110
  • FM – 93.5, 94.3, 95.1, 96.7, 98.3, 99.9, 101.1, 103.7, 104.7, 105.5

These radio stations transmit up-to-date information about the status of a threatening weather conditions. Because the radio is your primary source of information during an emergency, make sure that you have a portable radio and enough batteries to operate the radio for at least 24 hours
